Best kept using African (Rift Lake) water conditioner. pH 7.6 - 8.0, general hardness
about 300ppm. Eats any fish food, should have some vegetable matter added regualrly. A
beautiful, graceful shape, soft colours, not at all shy. Displays well especially in
schools. An ideal African (Rift Lake) community species. Can easily be distinguished from
other "princess" cichlids by the horizontal and vertical bar pattern on the gill
plate.

The daffodil princess cichlid is endemic to Lake Tanganyka. Best kept using African
(Rift Lake) water conditioner. A beautiful, graceful variety with yellowish fins. N.
pulcher can be distinguished from other "princess" cichlids by the distinctive
double crescents on the gill plate.
