This species is widespread throughout most of northern South America. A very attractive and peaceful species that grows up to 18cm. Hoplo Catfish will eat any sinking fish food and are usually quite undermanding about water conditions, although juveniles should be housed in an aged aquarium. (one that has previously contained fish).
