Chelmon rostratus

Apart from the obvious differences in colouration, etc., this fish strongly resembles in shape the previous species, although the jaws are slightly less elongated in relation to the body size.

The Copper Band Butterfly fish may be difficult to encourage to start feeding in captivity. This is particularly true of those specimens originating from the Singapore area rather than those imported from the Philippines. However, provided that conditions in the aquarium are excellent with regard to correct physical (lighting, specific gravity, temperature, etc.) and psychological (adequate cover, absence of aggressors, etc.) parameters, this lovely fish will nearly always be tempted with slivers of fresh mussel mantle or squid. From then on, it will feed readily.
